Interior Designer
Charlotte joined King’s in 2006. Whilst here she studied Art, Design Technology, French and Music. After leaving King’s, she competed an Art and Design Foundation Diploma at Oxford Brookes University before completing a Fine Art Degree at Lancaster University.

In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys making the most of her beautiful surroundings by taking regular hikes.
Communication Consultant
Victoria, 24, attended King’s from 2003 to 2012 and whilst here she studied Classical Civilisation, English Language and English Literature for A Level. Since leaving King’s, Victoria studied Classical Civilisation at the University of Warwick before becoming a Communication Consultant for like minds UK ltd.
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
There really are too many to count – from great trips, to plays produced by my peers, inspiring lessons and charity events. It’s impossible to pick just one!
Did you have a favourite teacher?
Mr Loach and Dr McMahon!
What advice would you offer current students who may be interested in a similar path to yours?
Don’t be put off if the degree you want to study doesn’t necessarily lead to a job – as long as you’re passionate about it, it’ll make you want to work hard and enjoy studying it which will come across far more strongly when it comes to applying to jobs than a degree you wouldn’t enjoy or have wanted to work hard at.
What would be the best piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?
Have confidence in yourself and your abilities, and don’t be afraid to believe in your own brilliance.
What is your ultimate ambition?
To publish a book!
Masters Student
Our next alumnae profile for 20 Years of Girls at King’s is our first female Head of School, Hayley Milner. Hayley attended King’s from 2005-2014 and here she shares memories of her time at school and her hopes for the future.

What is your current role or area of further study?
I am currently doing a Masters degree in Law, Business and Management, and at the same time I’m doing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law

What is your ultimate ambition?
To become a named partner at a top legal firm in New York
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
Getting a phone call from Mr Ramsey asking me to be Head of School
Who was your most influential teacher/s at King’s?
Dr MacMahon and Mr Lee
What advice would you offer current students who may be interested in similar path to yours?
Looking after yourself, both mentally and physically, is just as important as succeeding academically
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Travelling and going out with friends
Student veterinary nurse at the Royal Veterinary College.
Hannah joined King’s for A Levels in 2014, leaving in 2016. Whilst here she studied Biology, Maths, English Literature and completed an EPQ. Hannah is currently a student veterinary nurse at the Royal Veterinary College.
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
Schola cantorum every Monday evening.
Did you have a favourite teacher?
Dr McMahon, she gave me the confidence to be myself and believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself.
What advice would you offer current students who may be interested in a similar path to yours?
Go for it, you’ll regret it if you don’t chase your dreams.
What is your ultimate ambition?
To save animals and maybe teach the future veterinary nurses this curriculum.
Professional Singer
Helena joined King’s in 2003. Whilst here she studied Music, French and English Language at A Level. After leaving King’s, she headed to University of York, and is now a professional singer, based in London.
In her spare time, Helena enjoys doing photography, participating in sport and music, and going out for food!
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
My last year of Junior School – I just remember constant enjoyment. Or performing in Sondheim’s Into the Woods. Or my A Level subjects, they were all completely fascinating and I’m still loathed to throw any of my notes away.
Did you have a favourite teacher?
Mr Lloyd was my form teacher for four years, and was just such a genuine, kind and encouraging man, who really loved what he did. Or James Millard – he was a phenomenal music teacher and I’m sure is a huge part of the reason why it’s both my main passion and career now.
What advice would you offer current students who may be interested in a similar path to yours?
You’re probably in it for love, not money, and that’s fine. Music enriches my life hugely.
What is your ultimate ambition?
To sing opera, or to take photos, or both.
Masters student & Part time English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher
Emily joined King’s in 2006 and went on to study Biology, Chemistry, Maths, English and French at A Level. After leaving King’s, Emily had a gap year in Bordeaux, followed by a BA in Linguistics at UCL with a year studying abroad in Strasbourg, France.
Emily is currently living in London whilst undertaking a Masters in Applied Linguistics at UCL and working part-time as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. In what spare time Emily has, she enjoys playing sport.
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
As every other person has said, there are too many good memories to list. However ones that instantly came to mind were jovial form times with Mr Canty and Mr Morris and netball afternoons with Mrs Jones. I often wish I could go back to these moments.
Who was your most influential teacher?
Cunningly managed to name check three in the question above leaving me a little less guilt-ridden with this question… Due to the fact I ended up in France for two of my first four years after leaving King’s, Madame Vergnaud, whom I called my second mother and who taught me every year from Shells to U6, wins that accolade. However, I would not be the person I am today without Mrs Gareh and Dr McMahon. Neither of them taught me for more than a year or two but their guidance outside the classroom was more important than I realised at the time.
What advice would you offer current students who may be interested in a similar path to yours?
Never ignore an opportunity because you don’t think it is relevant to your field. Every bit of work experience I did through school featured at some point on an application to university, to another job or for a scholarship. Everything is a stepping stone.
What is your ultimate ambition?
Not my ultimate one, but an ambition I’ve had since my King’s days is to establish a scholarship or work experience placement so more students can benefit in the way I did.
Early Years Leader and Reception Teacher
To kick-start the celebrations, we catch up with Holly Anne Frances Marriott (nee Miles) who joined King’s Sixth Form in 1998, making her one of the first girls to have joined the school.
Whilst Holly was at King’s, she studied English, History and Geography for A Level, which included many trips, contributing to some of Holly’s most fond memories from King’s.
Holly, an Early Years Leader and Reception Teacher, said, “I think 20 Years of Girl’s at King’s is such a lovely idea – slightly scary that it was 20 years ago though! We did really have a wonderful time in those two years when we were in the Sixth Form form and made life long memories.”
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
Wonderful English lessons taught by some really inspiring teachers and a brilliant Geography field trip to Chamonix!
Did you have a favourite teacher? If so, who?
Mr Hargreaves. He was very inspirational and took us on some fab trips to Stratford to watch Shakespeare. Mr Priory was a great form tutor. All of the teachers were great.
How did it feel to be one of the first girls at King’s?
Having come from an all girls school it was quite a shock! It was a very fun and eventful two years though.
What do you consider as the biggest challenge facing woman in the workplace and have you had to overcome any obstacles based on your gender within your career?
Working in primary education, I have to say that gender obstacles have not been an issue for me as it is quite a female dominated field.
What would be the best piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?
Enjoy the present and do not be so keen to go on to the next thing. Do not be fooled by appearances. Life is about your choices so much more than your ability!
PR Manager at Source PR
Scarlett joined King’s in 2004 aged 10, leaving in 2012. Whilst here she studied English Language, Religious Studies and French for A Levels. Scarlett went on to study English Language and Linguistics at University of York and is now a PR Manager at Source PR.
What is your favourite memory from your time at King’s?
The 6th form Art History trip to New York.
Did you have a favourite teacher?
Mrs Lydon – her passion for English Literature was wonderful.
What advice would you offer current students who may be interested in a similar path to yours?
Make sure you get your internships sorted sooner rather than later!
What is your ultimate ambition?
To run my own ‘murder mystery’ experiential business.
