THE BEST INVENTION EVER

I think the best invention ever is the Lifestraw®; it is a water-filtration device that can save the six thousand people (mainly children) who die each day by drinking unsafe water.  Would you like to walk a mile to a stream, or have to walk for two hours until you find somewhere safe to find water?  Lifestraw® is portable, easy to use and lightweight and could save thousands of children in third-world countries from suffering many diseases, such as typhoid and cholera.  It has won many awards such as the Saatchi and Saatchi award for the idea to change the world and has been included in various magazines such as Forbes’ ‘Top ten things that will change the way we live’ article.  It is also helping the Millennium Development Goal of halving the number of people not having access to safe drinking water by 2015.  In my opinion, this is vital for future generations.

One Child, One Being

Dear Mum,

I am going off with my alien Mirky on a journey for two days.  In their world, that is equivalent to two million light years.

The space ship is full of peculiar things.  There are millions of mini creatures, stars and titchy planets with titchy creatures living on them.  It is also full of fun gadgets such as a helmet that can tell you what you are thinking, a pen that can scan your work and check it for you, and a chest of drawers in the bedroom which, if you press a button, will open for you.

I have been to planet Saturn already and the most amazing part is when you zoom off into space again.  This is because when you go through the rings you can’t see anything except rainbows.

The captain of the ship is called Oozy OOz, Oo for short.  He is very tall and very weird because he has purple skin with orange polka dots on it.

I am having a very good time.
