Bursaries
A number of bursaries are awarded annually to boys and girls entering the senior school at age 11. The bursaries take account of the results of the entrance examination. The value of each bursary, which will be a proportion of the annual tuition fees, is determined on the basis of financial need.

Students entering the sixth form may also be awarded bursaries on the basis both of financial need and of the student's academic potential.

All bursaries are awarded to students who demonstrate special success or potential and whose families would be otherwise unable to afford the full fees.

Scholarships
The school has recently revived the tradition of academic scholarships, awarded to the outstanding performers in the entrance examination at 11+. Pupils awarded scholarships are known as ‘King’s Scholars’ throughout their time in the school and receive a single monetary award.

Up to fifteen scholarships are awarded each year on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Entrance Examination held at the school during the Lent term for children applying for entry to year 7 at the King’s School the following September.

The King's School Bursary Trust and a number of other Trusts also make funds available to enable further assistance to be offered, especially in cases of sudden and short term financial hardship.

Bursary application forms can be requested when completing the exam registration form.
