Appointment of the new headmaster

HOME \ EVENTS & NEWS \ APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEADMASTER  

ChrisRamseyThe Governors are very pleased to announce that they have appointed Mr Christopher David Ramsey MA to succeed Mr Tim Turvey as Headmaster.

Mr Ramsey, who is 42, was born and educated in Brighton and Corpus Christi, Cambridge, where he read Modern Languages. He began his teaching career at Shrewsbury School, moving on to Head of Languages, firstly at The Leys in Cambridge and then at Wellington College in Berkshire. He was Deputy Head at Cranleigh School in Surrey before being appointed to the Headship of  King’s College, Taunton in 2002.

Chris and his wife, Lynne have three children: Anthony, 12, Edward, 8 and Mollie, 3. He is a keen runner, football supporter and golfer and also enjoys painting and the theatre.

Mr Ramsey, who will take up his appointment in September 2007,  said, “My family and I are thrilled to be coming to The King’s School and we are all very much looking forward to getting to know the school and the Chester area.”
