Showcase Science

HOME \ EVENTS & NEWS \ SHOWCASE SCIENCE

On 15 March (2007), 16 sixth form scientists attended the biennial Showcase Science which this year was held at Oundle School. Along with over one thousand other student delegates from across the country, they were treated to lectures by some of the leading British scientists in their respective fields and also had a chance to take in a number of interactive exhibits in pure and applied science. The King’s students had also collaborated in four groups to produce posters entitled:

  • Physics at the Extremes
  • Hydrogen Fuel Cells - The way forward for clean energy generation?
  • Internal combustion engine – where do we stand with it?
  • Obesity - Effects, causes, solutions

These posters were on show throughout the day for perusal by delegates, and questions were asked of the authors by a panel of judges. Although this year, we didn’t win any prizes, the posters were judged to be of a high standard and will be available for viewing in School in the near future.
