Match reports

U13 A girls won 9-8 against chester Catholic HS (home, November 11, 2008 )

This was Henrietta debut for the A team and she had an excellent game, her timing was spot on and shooting was outstanding.  The team were behind all the way buty pulled it back in the dying moments to clinch the win.

U13 B girls won 9-2 against Chester Catholic HS (home, November 11, 2008 )

The B team had an excellent all round performance, Harriet Robinson was outstanding as as Captain Urbi Sen.  A really positive start.

back to results tables

U13 A girls won 19-16 against West Kirby Grammar School (home, November 08, 2008 )

This was a really close game, throughout all four quaters, but King's kept the lead at all times.  Georgina Clarke and Hayley Milner played exceptionally well in defence, and shooting was spot on by Sara and Lucy.  Mid court held play together at times bringing the ball down the court with fantastic timing and passes, anybody would think we had been practicing.

U13 B girls lost 14-17 against West Kirby Grammar School (home, November 08, 2008 )

This was a very close run game with Kig's taking the lead, then West Kirby.  Henrietta and Harriet shot brilliantly and Hernrietta's movement got better and better as the match progressed.  We had problems in defence as we had to play people out of position to cover, but Laura Johnson, Jess Cole and Charlotte Carr coped really well despite being at a severe height disadvantage.

back to results tables

U14 girls lost 6-46 against West Kirby Grammar School (home, November 08, 2008 )

This score line was almost expected as many of our players were playing in the U16 hockey tournament and we had to play out of position almost entirely.  Emily Moss is of special mention for her ability to never give up even when things look hopeless.  She is a shining example to us all.

1st girls won 17-2 against Cathloic HS (away, October 15, 2008 )

U19 Netball squadThe girls had an outstanding tournament from start to finish and did't lose momentum throughout.  Shooting was excellent throughout by Hannah Rudge and Hannah Phillips.  Feeding and support in the D was provided by Jaimie Crowther and Amy Bellis who both eventually moved towards the ball and never gave up.  Defence is a strong point on the team.  Kathryn Williams and Joint Captain Hannah Dowson intercetpted well and fed the ball well down the court. In he defence D pressure was always on the opposition shooters as Rachel Eglin, Captain Emma Hickley and Ellie Sowden were outstanding in regaining posession and moving the ball out quickly.  This is the first netball trophy for King's and I am very proud of the whole squad.  k Jones

U15 girls lost 10-26 against Bishop Heber (home, October 14, 2008 )

We played 3 1/3's with our middle score being a 5-6 loss.  Fizzy Elesgood has found her new and natural positon in defence and worked well with Katrina Holbrook and Emily Guest to hold off ver y efficient shooters.

back to results tables

U13 A girls lost 8-9 against Bishop Heber (home, October 14, 2008 )

Our play down the court was fantastic we just failed to turn out opportunities into goals.  Sara Ashworth and stand in Eleanor Carmichael were great in defence and jess Guest is really starting to improve as a intelligent player, really creating space for herself to drive into to recieve the ball.

back to results tables

U15 girls lost 10-38 against QEGS (home, October 04, 2008 )

A very tough game against a VERY good team.  Captain Fizzy Elesgood deserves a special mention for playing brilliantly as GD, not her usual position,

back to results tables

U14 girls lost 6-16 against QEGS (home, October 04, 2008 )

With players missing due to  rowing and illness, this team played really well as many were playing out of position.  Players of the game were Lexi Garnett and Anna Ashbarry, who did a sterling job in defence.

back to results tables

U15 girls lost 14-17 against Blacon (home, September 29, 2008 )

After a very poor start and begining the second half 6 14 down the girls pulled it back to within 3 goals of the lead.  A very competitive match.

A really close game, that could have gone either way.

Some excellent shooting by newly appointed Captain Sara Ashworth helped achieve this victory over a really good netball school.
