King's Chester is the one of the top independent, private day schools for boys and girls. Directions

By road

The King's School is located on the A483 Chester-Wrexham Road, 1½ miles south of the city centre and about half a mile from the A55 Chester southerly bypass.

From M6/M56
Take M53 Chester/North Wales and continue south (it becomes the A55). Take the A483 Chester/Wrexham exit, follow signs to Chester. The school is on the right immediately after the second roundabout.

From A56 / A51 / A41 Whitchurch
Turn south onto A55 and then as above.

From A41 Birkenhead
Follow signs through Chester to A483 Wrexham/North Wales. The school is on the left, a mile south of the city. There is visitor parking in front of the main entrance under the clock tower.

By bus

Daily return bus services are organised by parents for the benefit of pupils at King's. Services operate on the following routes from:

  • Nantwich/Tarporley
  • Whitchurch/Malpas/Broxton/Waverton
  • Prestatyn/Rhuddlan/Northop

By train

Chester railway station is a 10 minute taxi ride away.

By air

Manchester airport is less than 45 minutes by road. There is a direct rail service to Chester which takes about an hour.
