The monastic “schole house” at the Chapel of St. Nicholas, Northgate Street – altered and extended and now occupied by Superdrug may have been where the school was first located in 1541, and then on to “under a malt loft on the west side of the Abbey Court” until the refectory was ready for occupation by the school, possibly as late as 1552.
