This empty niche was occupied by a statue of Bishop Wilson (an old King’s Scholar). The statue, designed by English sculptor Leslie Cubitt Bevis in 1938, was purchased by the old boys of the school. In 1959 it was agreed that it should be removed to our current site. In the Spring of 1960, it was removed, but it never arrived here. What happened to it remains a mystery!
