Pastoral Care
Your child in our hands
Our aim is for all pupils to achieve their maximum potential, but above all we want them to be happy.
As valued individuals in our school family, every child's well-being and progress is carefully watched over primarily by their form teacher and by all members of staff. We ask parents to be equally involved in ensuring school is a positive, enjoyable experience for them.
As pupils prepare to step up to Senior School, their teachers will be making sure the transition is smooth and trouble free. At this critical time, we will make you aware in good time if we think your child is worried about the impending change or may not thrive in the Senior School.
Medical
King's has a well appointed Medical Centre which is operated by Sister Catherall who is a registered general nurse and is supported by a Medical Room Assistant. Sister Catherall helps to manage ongoing medical needs of the pupils. She also manages essential vaccination programmes for pupils throughout their time at the School.
Ill or injured pupils are referred to Sister Catherall, if appropriate. They will be cared for either at school or hospital until a parent/guardian arrives. If a pupil remains in school and we cannot contact the parents by phone, Sister Catherall will send a letter detailing the nature of the apparent illness/injury.
If you wish to discuss management of your child's health the school nurse can be contacted on 01244 689568.
