King’s v Cheadle Hulme and Kirkham

On Saturday 18th October, the Hockey B team left school at 8.00 am and arrived at Cheadle Hulme at 9.00 am.  The positions were: CF Eloise Bland, CM Penny Downes, RA Emily Scott and Sarah Stearne, LA Rebecca Reeves, LB Holly Ward, RB Annie Powell and GK Catriona Hogg.

The first match was against Kirkham.  Kirkham are considered to be a very strong team, even better than King’s!  They had the first centre pass but Annie saved it and dribbled it past the centre line.  We had nearly got into the D but their defenders were too good and hit it far over the centre line.  They took a chance and scored!  It was 1-0 to Kirkham.  It was our centre pass now and Eloise took it as she was CF.  She passed to Rebecca and she passed to Penny.  Unfortunately, they tackled and got the ball.  It if wasn’t for our defenders (Holly Ward and Annie Powell) we could have lost by a long way, like Cheadle Hulme did (10-0).  In the end we lost by 2-0.  The girl of this match was Annie Powell.

The second match was against Cheadle Hulme.  They had the centre pass.  They passed but Penny (our captain) came to the rescue and tackled.  Penny then passed to Eloise, Eloise passed to Rebecca and she scored!  The second centre pass was ours.  I passed to Rebecca and she passed to me.  Next I passed to Penny and Penny passed to Rebecca and she scored again!  In the end we won by 2-0!  The girl of this match was Rebecca.
