Pastoral CareYour child in our handsOur aim is for all pupils to achieve their maximum potential, but above all we want them to be happy. As valued individuals in our school family, every child’s well-being and progress is carefully watched over primarily by their form teacher and by all members of staff. We ask parents to be equally involved in ensuring school is a positive, enjoyable experience for them. As pupils prepare to step up to senior school, their teachers will be making sure the transition is smooth and trouble free. At this critical time, we will make you aware in good time if we think your child is worried about the impending change or may not thrive in the senior school. Pre- and post-school careProfessionally staffed before and after school care is always available from 8.00 –8.30 am and from 3.30 - 6.00 pm every weekday during term time. A light tea is included and breakfast is available at additional cost. Activities include art and craft, quizzes, ICT, competitions and games with a supervised area for quiet study and homework also provided. For further information, please call Lydia Hornby on 07795 567359. MedicalIll or injured pupils are referred to our full-time nurse, Sister Catherall, if appropriate. They will be cared for either at school or hospital until a parent/guardian arrives. If a pupil remains in school and we cannot contact the parents by phone, Sister Catherall will send a letter detailing the nature of the apparent illness/injury.
