Chester Association of Old King's ScholarsThe Association, founded in 1866, is one of the longest established and most successful in the country.
The objects of the Association are:
An Events Card is published annually and regular Newsletters keep members in this country and abroad informed. Members have access to the online membership database through which they can keep in contact with their friends and acquaintances. In April each year the Association's Annual Dinner is held at the Grosvenor Hotel. A Champagne Reception starts the evening in style for those attending - OKS, their guests, staff, Upper Sixth and friends of the School. The President is accompanied by his guests, the Headmaster and Governors. This is a prestigious 4-course candle lit formal event during which the latest Old King's Scholars' Exhibitioner is presented with the award by the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Chester. A wide variety of other social events take place throughout the year. The President's Event is usually held during the summer. There is also a London Supper which changes venue each year. More informal social events include Crown Green bowls, a Golf Tournament, and a Snooker Challenge Match. Sports events include Rowing, Cricket and Hockey versus the school. The 144th Annual Dinner of The Chester Association of Old King's Scholars (CAOKS) was held this year at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester. It was an excellent occasion where OKS, their guests, former and current teachers and Headmasters, friends and the current head of school prefect team enjoyed some good food and company.
