Senior School

"In pursuit of Unpretentious Excellence"

pupils with the headmasterThe King's Senior School offers an excellent academic education for children aged from 11-16.

We believe that King's is an exceptional school. We admire tolerence, respect, integrity and strength of character. Boys and girls alike develop a genuine zest for learning, independence and mutual respect.

The children start at 11 years in the 'Remove' form in small tutor groups. From the minute they enter King's, children easily transfer into secondary education with the great pastoral and mentoring support. Pupils have a wide curriculum which is enhanced by an enormous array of extra-curricular activities from Chess Club to Film Club.

By the time they leave us, King's pupils are self assured, articulate, well-rounded men and women, prepared academically and socially for university and beyond.

Pupils are encouraged to challenge and question accepted notions by teachers whose passion and knowledge of their subject inspire and stretch young minds.

In addition to the academic curriculum, there is a fantastic range of other opportunities, including :

  • Rowing - the Rowing Club and Boathouse
  • Sport - over 26 different sports on offer
  • Drama - at least six productions per year
  • Music - 20 different music groups
  • Chess - regular chess club meetings
  • Biodiversity club
