King’s shows Passion for Poetry with a marathon poetry-reading

PoetryThe King’s School have shown their passion for Poetry with a Poetry Reading Marathon throughout a lunchtime this week. Pupils from 11 to 18 years old and staff read their favourite poems aloud in the Vanbrugh Theatre in an hour-long, non-stop marathon. In total 59 pupils and staff joined the marathon poetry-reading but it was such a successful event that there were a still a further 30 pupils to read when time ran out! The event has been extended for an extra day in order to hear all the poems. During the week, staff had been asked to choose their favourite poem and all the poems have been mounted and displayed all round the school. The events were organised by King’s Passion for Poetry Club to celebrate National Poetry Day.Poetry
