King’s Pupils’ swim to victory
King's entered a boys’ and a girls’ team at intermediate level (3rd Year and below) and both teams performed admirably. The girls’ team of Jessica Lee (RMIR), Isobel Wild (RMGA), Jennifer McDonald (SHLP), Katie Lawrence-Smith (3DB), and Anna Willis (3DB), swam really well and placed 20th in both relays, despite having three underage swimmers. The boys’ team had a tremendous evening, their times seeing them placed 2nd overall - a fantastic achievement as all the top swimming schools from Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester were present. The boys’ team consisted of: Sam Wild (3AI), Simon Ellershaw (3AI), Alex Tan (3AI), and Daniel Weatherley (3AI).The boys now face an anxious wait while the results come in from the other 7 regions. If their time remains in the top 16 they will be invited to the National Finals in Southampton later this year. |
