King's Chester is the one of the top independent, private day schools for boys and girls. It has Junior (preparatory), Senior and Sixth Form sections and takes pupils from Cheshire, Shropshire, the Wirral and North Wales. It consistently achieves somes of the best academic results in the area; offers academic bursaries; and is well known for its sports, rowing and music.

Boy's run the distance in Cross Country CompetitionFollowing on from the success of King’s girls’ Cross Country team the boy's team also had a strong showing in the Chester and District Corss Country event. The Minor team (Removes) placed second overall, beaten by a strong Tarporley side. Tom Thelwall-Jones (RmSC) was 2nd, shortly followed by Matt Willis (RmSC) who was 3rd. The remaining runners were Josh Burke (RmGA) – 9th, Miles Meredith (RmJW) – 17th, Matt Reece-Jones (RmVL) – 25th and James Tomlinson (RmRA) – 28th. The Junior team, made up of Shells and Thirds, also placed second overall. Captain Sam Pode (3AI) led the team , placing 3rd. Josh Dawson (ShLP) was 13th, Tom Hill (3DB) – 16th, Charlie Macloskey-23rd and Fraser Smellie (ShLP) – 27th. Both the Intermediate and Senior Boys' team won their events, though the inter-team shared the honours with Christleton High School. The positions were as follows: Intermediate (Fourths and Fifths) - Ben Paxton (4CM) – 2nd, Jack Duncalf (5EH), Cameron Hogg (5EH) – 8th, Jack Webber (5JM) – 12th, Liam Boyle (5ET) – 16th. Seniors (Sixth Form) – Harry Ashworth (U6ER) – 3rd, Will Miller (U6ML) – 4th, Fred Hill (U6KL) – 5th, Tom Stables (U6ER) - 8th and George Vickers (U6TH) – 10th. As well as the team events the top 20 runners in each race will be selected to represent Chester in the County event, which will be held in the New Year. King’s would like to congratulate all the runners who showed a great attitude throughout the event. |
