Spanish sports trip

Fifty-one pupils from Shells and Thirds  recently returned from a Sports Tour to Estepona, Marbella.  Despite some dreadful weather the trip went wonderfully well, with the pupils developing their skills in netball and football through an intensive training and playing schedule.

The girls were coached by a top level instructor from Netball England and put in some fantastic performances during their matches in Gibraltar.  They also showed great improvement in their team play, fitness levels and individual skills.  The footballers were under the tutelage of coaches from Malaga FC and both squads impressed with their work-rate and outstanding attitudes.

This trip was arranged as part of the PE Department's touring schedule designed to allow pupils the chance to live as professional athletes for a week.  They will be returning to Estepona in 2013 with junior teams and hope to lead trips to Holland for senior football and hockey over the next eighteen months.
