GCSE and A Level Art ExhibitionThe art department have showcased the many talents of the GCSE and A Level artists’ work for their examinations last Summer in a recent exhibition. Current and former pupils, parents, and staff visited the exhibition in the gallery and foyer to view the fantastic displays. All of the 2011 leavers who studied art went onto study architecture or art and design and one, Katie Grant, returned to King’s especially to view her work.. Katie has gone on to study a foundation course in Art and Design at Central St Martin’s College of Art, London where she hopes to continue her studies and specialise in graphics at degree level. King’s Art Department have a long tradition of sending pupils to St Martin’s with David Graham in 2008 who is in his final year specialising in animation and illustration and Sarah Narici in 2009 who is in her second year and specialising in jewellery design. Former Art student, Felix Chabluk-Smith, who graduated from Edinburgh art college, has also been awarded a place at the Royal College of Art to study a Master’s Degree in Men’s Fashion. Former pupil Tim Wallinger is also a fellow of the St Martin’s and went on to become a successful men’s wear designer with his own brand |
