Girls' Under16s are Indoor Hockey ChampionsAdding to last week's King's girls' indoor hockey successes for the Under 14 and 15s squads, it was the turn of the U16s girls to be crowned champions of Cheshire at Indoor Hockey. With Kitty Abberton (4DL) making her debut in goal, King's made a strong start to the tournament beating Christleton 4 - 1, goals from Lucy Armatage (4CM), Sara Ashworth (5ET), Ellie Kearney-Mitchell (4DL) and Ellie Crisp (4CM). After a well-earned doughnut break, King's were up against Queen's. It was a well fought game with each player giving 110%. Lucy Armatage and Sara Ashworth were exceptional in midfield and were instrumental in setting up the 4 goals. In the final game, King's were once again determined to win and Katie Pownall (4MW) and Eleanor Barnard (5ET) worked hard to ensure King's had a glorious 2 nil victory. It was an outstanding team performance and King's were the deserving winners. |
