Matthew is a triple threat!



It has been a successful summer for Matthew Willis (ShRC). Matthew came first in Liverpool’s Sefton Triathlon, the biggest community Triathlon in the UK, finishing the 100m swim, 4k cycle, and 2k run in a time of 21:23, beating 75 competitors in the Intermediate event.
He also came first in the Chester Triathlon, the Chester Aquathlon (a swim, run event), the Oswestry Duathlon (a run, bike, run event) and second in the Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon, an open water competition.
In a Charity Bike event, he cycled 100km for the Christie Hospital, and also swam 750m in Bala Lake in a Charity Swim event, in aid of Help for Heroes and Cancer Research UK.
As a member of Wrexham Athletics Club, he finished the track season ranked 8th in Wales in both the 800m and 1500m, and as a keen cyclist he cycled 92 miles from Wrexham to Anglesey.
