Win for the King's Flyers

The Kings school show jumping team consisting of James Pymm (3CC), Ben Stratton (ShHL), Emily Boothroyd (ShRA) and Oliver Williams (joining Sept 2011 and riding HC) triumphed in an incredibly close-run schools show jumping challenge competition on May Bank holiday at South View Arena in Cheshire . All four team members rode with speed and determination and finally won by only a 0.6 second margin from Shrewsbury High. This is the closest winning margin ever posted in this final class of the day. They were competing against 14 teams representing schools from all over the North West and North Wales.

Individual team members were well placed in the warm up class with Oliver Williams 3rd and Emily Boothroyd 6th.

In the main class  riders just got faster and faster with James setting  the pace as pathfinder with a fast double clear. This was followed by Emily  who just pipped James and then by Ben who looked set to win the individual title with a seemingly unbeatable round. He was finally just overtaken - by only 0.3 second - by a Shrewsbury High rider and her nationally acclaimed pony.

The team are hoping to continue their success at the forthcoming National schools championship qualifier in June.
