Former teacher David Lyons, 1926-2011

Several former pupils have passed on their thoughts, memories and tributes to a very popular former teacher David Lyons, who sadly passed away last week aged 85.

David taught History at King's up until 1990 and was very heavily involved in the musical and drama based activities at the School.

His particular passion was for Opera, and he was, for many years the conductor of the Grand Opera in Liverpool, and also conducted the Chester Philharmonic Orchestra in its early years.

He will be sadly missed.

David's funeral is at Chester Cathedral at 11.00 on Tuesday 31st May. Roger Wickson (former HM at King's) is giving the tribute. He would welcome any contributions within the next day or two. These can be passed to him via the school.
