King of the GiantsPupils from Junior School and Senior School, together with teachers, created a Giant to take part in last Sunday’s Parade of Giants in Chester City Centre as part of Chestival 2011. The 14ft Giant Henry VIII was made from materials kindly provided by parents of pupils and was sponsored by Chartwells catering suppliers and uniform providers Cheatle’s. Made in workshops by pupils over just two weekends, Junior School Art teacher and creative director of the project, Miss Savage, worked very hard to produce an outstanding Giant that was named as ‘Giant of the Festival’ by the MBNA Chestival Team. Henry was paraded through the City Centre by some of the pupils and staff who helped to make him, amongst 100 other giants, starting at the City’s Amphitheatre and finishing with a performance in Town Hall Square.
