Removes Mathematics' Enrichment Week

The King’s School have been running a Removes Mathematics Enrichment Week for the pupils’ final Maths lessons of the year. They have run enrichment sessions during various Maths lessons. The Removes explored Mathematics beyond their current curriculum, whilst being used and applied in more unusual contexts and subjects.

Teachers from a number of departments contributed to this expanding annual event with Mr Goff (RS & Philosophy), Mrs Chadwick (History), Dr Bosworth (Physics), Mr Robinson (Music), Mr Lloyd (Design & Technology), Mr Lavender (IT), Mr Downey (Art) and Mrs Gareh (Classics & Head of Removes) all adding to the contributions from teachers in the Mathematics department.

Each pupil will saw different lessons with three new and different teachers. The sessions that pupils took part in included “Dodging the Flu”, “Junior Stock Market” and “First Past the Post”. The aim of the week was to enrich pupils learning of the subject and shows how Mathematics can operate in different environments.
