School Archives

The School Archive collections document the history of the
school from its foundation in 1541. Records include registers
of scholars, account books, minutes of the governing body
and other committees, correspondence, plans, photographs,
school magazines, yearbooks and school lists as well as film
of school productions and newer items in electronic format.
The work of cataloguing and indexing
the collections started in 2003 when the web based "Archive Server" software
was purchased. This is the start of a major project to
organise and catalogue many thousands of records. Over
750 records have so far been created which include 500
scanned images of photographs and older documents.
Access to this database is available to
current pupils, parents and staff via the Members'
Area of
the school web site.
Former pupils who are members of CAOKS can access the catalogue
via King's
Online.
