CAREERS INFORMATION

The Careers Library in the Sixth Form Centre is the main source of information in the school on higher education and careers for sixth form students. The Wickson Library holds material which was formerly held in the Junior Careers Library. We have loan copies of many of the main reference texts for university choices, as well as loan copies of booklets on individual careers. In addition we have a collection of CD ROMs, most of which must be used in the library. There is a small collection of videos.

The careers materials are arranged by the CLCI careers classification as used in most careers libraries. Apart from the CD ROMs most of this section is for one-week loan.

Useful information can be found on the internet, including websites of universities, UCAS, government departments, and commercial and industrial organisations. There are also resources on the school network to help with career choices.
