Sixth Form Curriculum

Curriculum for 2012/13

The curriculum in the Sixth Form is based around A level subject choices.

Students will take four of the following subjects at AS level in the lower sixth with ten periods per fortnight in each:

Chemistry History of Art
Classical Civilisation Latin
Computer Science Maths
Design Technology Music
Drama and Theatre Studies Religious Studies
Economics Philosophy
English Language Physical Education

French Politics and Government

In the Upper Sixth they may choose to take three or four of their AS subjects to A-level. In addition all Sixth Form students have a games afternoon (2 periods) each week, an afternoon of Enrichment Activities (2 periods per fortnight) and one period of Lifeskills per fortnight.

For timetabling purposes the teaching classes are placed into groups. All classes within a group are taught concurrently so a student cannot belong to two classes in the same group. For 2012-2013, the subject choices for Sixth Form are:

The Timetable

The School's Timetable is over a 2-week cycle. Lessons last 55 minutes with a 5 minute gap between each.

The day consists of:

9:10-10:05 Period 1
10:10-11:05 Period 2
11:05-11:25 Break
11:25-11:50 Assembly (Music rehearsals 11:15-11:50)
11:50-12:45 Period 3
12:45-1:50 Lunch
1:50-1:55 Registration
1:55-2:50 Period 4
2:55-3:50 Period 5
