Simon has taught all ages from 7-18 and although his BEd is in Geography and Education, today he derives great satisfaction from teaching Mathematics and Games. He is an avid follower of soccer, cricket, rugby and a supporter of Birmingham City FC. He is still actively involved in running Junior school sports teams and prior to moving to Chester, coached Warwickshire Colts at cricket and Birmingham district at soccer. Simon is married to Anna and has 2 teenage children. He enjoys travel, theatre, gardening and spending time with his family.

Toby Hughes

Joined King's in September 2008 as Head of Sixth Form having previously taught at Felsted School (2004-2008) where he was Head of Geography and in charge of Oxbridge entrance. Toby studied at Cambridge University where he gained an MA in Geography and Education Studies before going on to study for an MPhil in Education and completing a PGCE in Geography. Whilst at Cambridge he gained 3 Blues for cricket between 2000 and 2002. He was also involved with Footlights both as a writer and actor as well as a host of other student productions.

Away from school he enjoys writing plays for school productions (a musical version of Sherlock Holmes nearing completion) as well as directing and, when he gets the chance, performing on stage. He is also a keen musician, playing the guitar and writing songs, and during the summer enjoys playing cricket when he can, in between coaching the school 1st XI.
