The aim of the School is the steady and unpretentious
pursuit of quality in everything that is done here. The School admits
students of considerable academic ability. That ability will be
stretched to the full. We teach students how to think and stimulate
them to exceed their own expectations. This is a Christian School.
Students and staff of other faiths or no faith at all are respected.
However, Christian principles pervade the School.
We seek to promote personal and social development,
which embraces knowledge and understanding of oneself and others
and encourages self-esteem and a positive interaction with society.
It encompasses consideration for others, tolerance, honesty and
fairness, effective communication, an ability to reflect on and
learn from mistakes, and mental, spiritual and physical well-being.
We encourage teaching that promotes the development
of oral expression and widens students' views on issues raised by
the syllabus or themselves, as well as developing a more open relationship
between the staff and students.
The pastoral system involves every member of staff
and is integral to the well-being of the School. There will always
be someone in the School to whom each student can respond and who
is able to make that student feel he or she is special and important.
