Howson Club

Howson Club

Howson Club is all about three Fs: A bit of Food (optional); a bit of Fun (required); and a bit of Faith (optional!). We meet every two weeks on Teams for 20mins over a lunchtime.

We start by comparing snacks (bring your own for now, sadly!), followed by a game over Teams, leading to a short reflection on a Bible passage, exploring the big ideas of Christian faith and what it might mean for us today. Everyone is welcome, from all faith backgrounds or none.

Howson Club is a drop-in – so attendance is not required if you sign-up. Feel free to try it once, or come regularly.

Named after John Howson, a 19th Century Dean of Chester Cathedral who gave the school its motto: “Rex dedit, benedicat Deus” (The King gave it, may God bless it), the club aims to offer pupils a fun, light-hearted way to engage with big questions of life and faith.
