We were delighted to host the Genetics Roadshow, organised by the Welsh Gene Park recently
The evening included a series of captivating presentations from a number of scientists including Dr Toni Plagge from the University of Liverpool, who discussed the imaging of stem cells. Dr Daniel Hawcutt from the University of Liverpool provided an insight into his work in the Pharmacogenomics field and how genetics affects medicines given to children. Whilst Amy Rattenbury from Glyndwr University focused on DNA analysis in forensic science.
This was a hugely informative evening providing fascinating insight into an array of scientific concepts. It was great to see so many pupils attend, both from King’s and other local schools.
