This week Ancient Egypt was truly brought to life at Willow Lodge as pupils took part in numerous activities which allowed them to study the fascinating history of ancient Northeast Africa.
The archaeological dig generated great excitement as pupils crawled their way through a narrow tunnel passage before reaching the dig site. Here the pupils closely examined ancient pottery, discovering unique patterns and re-organising the different segments.
Following their archaeological adventures, the pupils congregated in the classroom where they created their own armour and jewellery to grasp the vast wealth that was possessed by the Egyptian Emperors.
This was followed by a Mummy creation workshop where the pupils learned about the ancient traditions of the Egyptian burials and tried their hand at wrapping!
These activities were thoroughly enjoyed by all the pupils and clearly conveyed the notion of learning through as many diverse and exciting ways as possible.
