Students take on 24 hour running challenge

Sixth Form students Yasmin Patel (U6LES), Chloé Beetschen (U6WAL), Freya Ainsworth, Heather Black (U6WAL), Holly Roden (U6GRO) and Lizzie Hunt (U6GRO) will all be running a mile every hour for 24 hours starting at 6am on the 30 January finishing at 6am on 31 January.

On their, GoFundMe page, the students have said:

“Since we are all in lockdown again we thought it would be a good idea to raise money to help Papyrus, a local charity supporting mental health, a matter close to our hearts.

“We all appreciate that a third lockdown is going to be difficult for many people, who are unable to see friends and family, and so we came up with the idea to run 24 miles in 24 hours.

“Although we will not be running these miles together, maintaining contact with friends is important in times like these.”

Well done to those students using their time to do something so touching and important at such a difficult time for many. Wishing you girls all the best for the weekend!
