Records tumble at AJIS Athletics!

Congratulations to our Junior School pupils who triumphed at this term’s AJIS Athletics event.

It was the perfect weather for athletics as the sun beamed down on the Wilton Park track, albeit with a very welcome breeze in the air! A hugely impressive total of 21 medals were claimed by our pupils, a record equalling haul for the school. It was also the first time in the school’s history that pupils have won medals in every single event, which displays the array of talents in the squad.

GOLD – Georgina Brown (J4O)  in the hurdles, J4 4×100 boys relay, J3 4×100 boys relay, Charlie Beyeler (J3H) triple gold – relay, 150m and long jump.

SILVER – Amber Millard Smith (J3B) in the hurdles, Holly Bosworth (J3B) in the 80m, Anna Walker (J3H) in throwing, J3 girls 4×100 relay, Eleanor Williams (J3B) in 600m.

BRONZE – Ben Whittlestone (J4O) in high jump , Javier Arechaga (J3H) in 80m.

A significant number of pupils gained Personal Best performances and / or finished in 4th place, narrowly missing out on a medal.

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents for your continuing help and support, it is very much appreciated.
