Double Gold for Wilf!

We reported earlier in the month on Wilf Le Brocq’s (U6KS) fantastic achievement to be selected to cox the GB team in the Junior Regatta that was held in Munich on  6th and 7 May. We are delighted to report that after another series of impressive performances, Wilf came home with 2 Gold Medals!

In case you missed it, Wilf flew out with the Great Britain team from Heathrow on Friday 5 May and then raced on the Saturday and Sunday, coxing the Great Britain boys Eight.

The first gold came on Saturday, with the determined GB team beating the Czech republic and Germany by an impressive 7 seconds.

On Sunday morning, the team won their heat by 4 seconds over Germany. They then went on to win gold in the A Final, beating a fired up Germany by 3 seconds! A superb achievement!

Going forward, Wilf will focus on trialling for a seat in the World Championship Team during this summer, after representing The King’s School as the 1st Eight Cox at the National Schools’ Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta.

We have very high hopes for Wilf and all our rowers this summer and we wish them the very best of luck!
