Hockey Excellence for King’s Girls

We are delighted to report that three of our impressive athletes have been selected to attend performance acceleration events for hockey over the summer!

Amelia Jones (5VL) has been selected for the North of England U17 Training Camp held in Manchester. Amelia has done incredibly well to get on the England Hockey Performance Pathway.

Emily Cartwright (L6SW) has secured a place on the Advanced Apprenticeship of Sporting Excellence Programme run by England Hockey. Emily will attend all the workshops during this summer to gain a wider understanding of nutrition, psychology and performance in hockey. The programme is open to successful Year 12 students and hopefully Emily will gain a  Certificate in Achieving Excellence in Sports Performance and Certificate in Understanding Sports Performance which carries UCAS points.

Finally Anna Mackay (3AL) has been invited to train with the Welsh National Hockey Squad in Cardiff. This is the start of Anna’s progression through the Welsh Hockey Pathway and we wish her lots of luck.
