A step back in time

Infant 2 pupils have been learning about The Romans which led them to think about what artefacts can be found in the ground and what these artefacts can teach us about the past. Pupils have explored the job of archaeologists and have considered whether they would like to be an archaeologist in the future.

This afternoon pupils had a chance to look at artefacts from the Grosvenor Museum in Chester. These included a roman soldier outfit and ‘market and trade’ artefacts. Pupils tried to work out what the artefacts were, what they are made of and who would have used them. Pupils then went on to acknowledge famous archaeological finds such as Tutankhamen’s tomb, the Jorvik dig and the Terracotta army in China.
