Team Faraday battle it out

Four students forming Team Faraday travelled to St Peter’s York, to take part in their Physics Olympics.

29 teams from schools in the North of England battled it out across the day to become champions. Students took part in five different events, including: constructing crumple zones, calculating the biggest length of flight of a home made car, devising an investigation to determine the length of a mystery pendulum, ranking sun creams in order of their effectiveness and trying to build the tallest tower to support the highest mass.

Our students had a busy and enjoyable day,, finishing 12th overall and were a credit to the school.
