Top tips for Entrance Exam Day

We are looking forward to welcoming candidates along to our Entrance Examination Day on Friday 18 January and wanted to share some Top Tips from our Deputy Head (Academic) James Millard to help them feel confident and prepared for what we hope will be a successful and fulfilling experience!

Top five tips for Entrance Exam Day from Deputy Head (Academic) James Millard

1. If you are stuck on a question, leave it and carry on to the next one - you can come back to it later if you have time
2. In the Maths paper always show your working - remember you can get marks even if you get the answer wrong
3. Read each question carefully - make sure you understand what the question is asking before you answer it
4. Remember what you’ve been taught and the advice your teachers have given you
5. Above all else, don’t panic! Stay calm and have confidence in your own ability - you might even enjoy yourself!

Mr Millard added, “We recognise it can sometimes be a bit of a stressful time for the young people sitting the test, and indeed their families. However, we have years of experience of putting the candidates at their ease so that they can fulfil their own, personal potential on the day. In fact, many of them end up commenting on how much they enjoyed it!”

Good luck, everyone!
