Willow Lodge celebrate World Book Day

World Book Day is designed to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and reading and what better way for Willow Lodge pupils to celebrate the occasion than to dress up as their favourite character and meet an author!

In this morning’s assembly, we welcomed Fay Evans, author of Fred the Fire-Sneezing Dragon, who spoke to the pupils about being an author. Fay has also been visiting each classroom and reading her book, Bob’s Beard. During each reading, an eager pupil has volunteered to represent Bob and his big bushy beard! At the end of each reading, pupils enjoyed learning some actions to The Ballad of Bob’s Beard

Pupils have also enjoyed a variety of activities such as creating a bookmark and tucking into a fantastic book-themed lunch with a very hungry caterpillar and a Hedwig created out of fruit.

Well done to all pupils for making such a great effort!
