Willow Lodge Maths Workshop

Willow Lodge hosted a successful parents’ workshop on the four mathematical operations and how they are taught within the school.

All the teachers took part, taking turns explaining the different ways each year group uses the Abacus scheme for our maths teaching.

They explained the process involved in this ‘Mastery approach’. Each year, the children build on previous understanding and learning by; practically exploring, investigating and revisiting different ways of working within the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).

The event was extremely popular and may well lead on to further workshops in the Lent term.
