Robins’ and Wrens’ Big Garden Birdwatch

Robins and Wrens have been busy learning about “The owl babies and their forest friends” and have linked this to the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.

Instead of having to go to the Forest School area to bird spot, pupils have been making bird tables, with the help of Mr Jenkins, to put outside their classrooms. Making the tables involved getting the wood out of the tractor and putting it all together using screws and even a drill! This gave pupils a great opportunity to learn about safety with tools.

As part of the project Robins and Wrens have been listening to bird songs to see if they can hear the birds as sometimes we are able to hear birds but not see them.

We’re looking forward to getting lots of use out of the bird tables and see what birds visit Willow Lodge!
