To book online visit the Vanbrugh Theatre ticket booking website where you have the option to select your own seats or choose the best available. Payments accepted via PayPal.

To book in person please visit the main reception area, where payments will be accepted in cash or by cheque.

The book by post, please sent a check to us at Box Office, The King’s School, Wrexham Road, Chester CH4 7QL.

Any cheques must be made payable to The King’s School.

Facilities for disabled patrons

The Vanbrugh Theatre is fully accessible to wheelchair users with disabled parking bays available for reservation. Please inform the Box Office by phone, email or in person of your requirements when booking tickets.

There is a designated disabled toilet facility next to the theatre, plus wheelchair spaces and an induction loop system available in the auditorium. Front of house staff will always be pleased to help if required.

Ticket booking deadline

The Box Office and on-line sales will close for each performance at 4pm the day before the show. Tickets may be available on the door subject to availability. Please see the notice board on the home page for ticket availability once the box office has closed.

  • Concessions include: Children and young people of school age, full time students, Senior Citizens over 65
  • Ticket prices include a £1.50 booking fee to cover administration charges. Please see below for the Booking Terms and Conditions.
  • Events, dates and times listed within this programme may be subject to change.
  • All tickets will be posted out unless payment is received less than 7 days before the date of the performance. Tickets must be paid for 7 days before the performance.
  • The Box Office is located at the front of the theatre, in the theatre office of The King’s School, Wrexham Road, Chester, CH4 7QL.
Booking Terms and Conditions
  1. Tickets cannot be refunded or re-sold and lost tickets cannot be replaced. Defaced tickets will not be accepted.
  2. The King’s School reserves the right, on behalf of its partners, to add, withdraw or substitute artists, and to vary the advertised programme and timings without without being liable to pay any compensation whatever.
  3. Ticket holders consent to inclusion in official photographic, visual and audio promotion of The King’s School, Chester.
  4. The King’s School reserves the right, on behalf of its partners, to refuse admission or to eject a ticket holder for behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance, injury or annoyance, or for for failure to comply with reasonable requests.
  5. It is your responsibility to check whether an event has been cancelled or rearranged, although we will do our best to notify ticket holders. Ticket holders may be offered tickets at any rescheduled performance up to the face value of the original tickets where possible.
  6. Latecomers will only be admitted in a suitable break in the performance at the discretion of the stewards.
  7. Tickets are strictly non-tranferrable for profit or commercial gain. Tickets in breach of this will become void.
  8. Online booking requires registration on the booking system. Customer details will be held securely and not passed to any third party.
  9. The King’s School reserves the right to charge a nominal booking fee to cover online administration, credit card charges and postal costs.
  10. Tickets will not be posted if booked later than 7 working days before the event.
  11. Tickets will be available for collection from the Box Office during opening hours or from the Reception at the King’s School at other times. PayPal payments sometimes take 24 hours to clear. Tickets will only be printed once payment has been confirmed as received. Please leave 4 working days from booking before collecting unless booked within 4 days of the event, when tickets will be available on arrival.
