Wrexham Road – Roadworks

There are currently road works and additional traffic lights on the Wrexham Road due to the new housing development.

Cheshire West and Chester Council has not confirmed the exact date that the work will be complete on the roundabout. Therefore, we suggest that you allow additional time for your commute in light of these potentially expected delays.

New Wave and Go Areas

 View new site map

We are pleased to inform you that we have increased the amount of Wave and Go areas on site in order to increase traffic flow at peak times. On the new site map (link below), you will see the Wave and Go areas highlighted in orange.

Upon entering in the left-hand lane directly in front of you will be your first Senior School Wave and Go (1). Then on the right-hand lane upon entering the site the second Senior School Wave and Go area is in the left-hand bay (2).

We also have the usual Willow Lodge Wave and Go Area (3) and the Junior and Senior Wave and Go Area (4). These areas are to be kept clear as much as possible, they are not for parking but are to be used as a quick drop off area.

This new layout should increase the traffic flow and make it easier for you to exit the site. This recent update is part of our Sustainable King’s initiative to be more environmentally aware by encouraging vehicle efficiency and decreasing emissions.

Sustainable King’s

Alongside this, as part of the Sustainable King’s initiative, we also have a number of schemes to encourage sustainable travel such as the Car Share Reward Scheme, the Golden Padlock Prize for cyclists and the Golden Ticket prize for pedestrians.

Furthermore, over the summer, the school site has become even more cycle friendly with double the amount of bike shelters being installed during the new term.

Bus Lane Camera Enforcement

From Monday 19 August, bus lane camera on the Wrexham Road will be live. This is just something to be aware of and all lanes will be clearly signed to indicate which vehicles are permitted. For the first four weeks drivers caught driving in the bus lanes will only receive a warning letter and full enforcement will officially begin from Monday 16 September.
