We offer a very popular Larks and Owls club which operates daily during term time for our Infants, Juniors and Removes Pupils (Year 7) in the Senior School. The club is managed by qualified play-workers who have been carefully chosen to ensure children receive the best quality care.
Larks Club (Breakfast): 7:45am – 8:30am: £4 per whole/part session The morning session includes supervised activities and the children are then escorted to the School to start their day. Breakfast of cereal, toast and juice or a piece of fruit is included. Owls Club (After School): End of school – 6pm: £8.50 per whole / part session Part session after extra-curricular club activity: £7.00 The afternoon session provides supervised play activities, indoor and outdoor (weather dependent) and cookery sessions. Swimming sessions are held for Junior school pupils at no additional cost. A supervised quiet study room is available for homework. Light tea, such as a sandwich, fruit/cake and a drink are provided before 5pm.
The Club cares for around 270 children before and after school. Our aim is to offer fun activities and to enable homework to be completed. The feedback we receive is always excellent and parents often tell us their children have had such a good time, they don’t want to go home! You’ll often hear “You’re too early, come back later!” Examples of activities include:
|Movie Nights||Drama Activities||Treasure Hunts|
|Games Console Nights||Arts & Crafts||Talent Competition|
|Prize Bingo||ICT||Table Tennis Tournaments|
The club is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of our parents, so sessions can be changed and organised online up to 10am on the day the of session for Owls and up to 2.30pm the day before for Larks sessions.
We accept childcare vouchers from all providers to pay for Larks and Owls club. If you would like more information on child care vouchers, please contact the Finance Office on 01244 689539.
Our Senior School Entrance Exam for starting King's Seniors in September 2021 will now be held on the later date of Friday 5 February 2021.
"This has been a uniquely challenging time for both parents and children and we hope that by delaying our Entrance Exam for the first time in our school's history we are reflecting a commitment to doing all we can to help candidates feel more prepared, relaxed and confident." - Mr George Hartley, Headmaster.
