Our Junior School is a world packed full of new experiences, new ways of learning and enjoying a huge number of new activities and extra-curricular clubs. The most important aspect of learning here is that all our children are happy and have fun as we know this is the best way children learn! We have unrivaled facilities including our Learning Centre with superb classrooms including an Art Studio , Design and Technology Workshop and Science Lab.
King’s Juniors is a self-contained school with its own playground and sports fields, and has the extra benefit of being able to also access all the facilities of the Senior School, such as the swimming pool, Vanbrugh Theatre, 1541 Dining room, tennis/ netball courts and floodlit astro turf.
Firstly, we have fun in the bucket load – from making clocks in DT, drawing self-portraits in Art, performing a musical in our theatre to performing in our own orchestra. Our teachers are specialists in teaching junior children and this is their passion. We have specialist teachers in Modern Languages, Maths, English, Science, Art, Music and IT which ensures we can offer the very best provision in some fantastic facilities.
King’s Juniors is a caring, nurturing school where we know every child and what makes them tick. Our children thrive in this academic yet supportive environment. We develop your child to the very best of their abilities and ensure that they leave the Juniors ready and excited to take up the challenge of Senior School education.
All children learn differently, and we treat all our pupils as individuals. Because of this, each and every one of them has the opportunity to shine.
The curriculum in the Junior School is wide and varied and is designed to engage and inspire pupils.
Our last inspection in 2015 described King’s Juniors as having “a supportive and stimulating learning atmosphere in which pupils are encouraged to embark on new challenges with an expectation that this will be fun and they can succeed”.
This is exactly the description of the school we know and love!
We were delighted with this comment as it sums up our Juniors in a nutshell. We aim to enthuse and challenge all our pupils …..but we like to make sure it is fun too!
In addition to the main curriculum, all pupils have the opportunity to be involved in lots of other activities during their years in the Juniors.
