The King’s School is located on the A483 Chester-Wrexham Road, 1½ miles south of the city centre and about half a mile from the A55 Chester southerly bypass.
Chester/North Wales and continue south (it becomes the A55). Take the A483 Chester/Wrexham exit, follow signs to Chester. The school is on the right, immediately after the second roundabout.
Turn south onto A55 and then as above.
Follow signs through Chester to A483 Wrexham/North Wales. The school is on the left, a mile south of the city. There is visitor parking in front of the main entrance under the clock tower.
Chester railway station is a 10 minute taxi ride away. Please check the Travelling to School guide below for details of connecting buses.
There is a public bus or train service accessible to King’s from most surrounding areas. In most cases there are Scholar Passes available which makes using these service affordable from Arriva and Stagecoach.
We have also worked with Cheshire West and Chester Council to create a Park and Ride Scholar Pass. This pass can be used for journeys into school which start at a *Park & Ride site and return journeys from one of the Park and Ride pick up points in Chester city centre. You can apply for a Park and Ride Scholar Pass here.
We have made access to Scholar Passes for discounted travel easier and the passes are now available to purchase via Parentpay.
Stagecoach now offer the new Service 1 route directly to Wrexham Road, so there are now direct routes to school rather than needing to change.
Passes can then be collected from Senior School reception in the first week of term. These discounted passes make travelling to King’s cost as little as £6.50 per week. Please click on the link below to the Travelling to School booklet as a general guide. All service times and routes should be checked.
*Pupils are not to walk from/to the Wrexham Road Park and Ride stop as it has been assessed by our staff as unsafe. We would suggest a journey from a Park and Ride site into Chester which can link with ARRIVA No 1 bus, which stops safely outside school.
We are incredibly proud of how our pupils and staff have come to together to face the huge challenges of the past few months.
As a school, we are thankful for the dedication of all key workers, including many of our own parents. #StayHomeSaveLives
