All dining services at The King’s School are provided by our contractors, Holroyd Howe. Since 1997, Holroyd Howe’s ethos and commitment to providing great fresh food served by well-trained people who really care has remained consistent. They approach food service with a simple, no fuss attitude. They use the best British ingredients: nothing processed, nothing added, just honest great food every day!
We source the finest British produce from local farmers, growers and artisan suppliers. So when it comes to selecting our ingredients, we choose only the best.
We champion the importance of providing children with food containing high nutritional value as it is key to their healthy growth. This is why we train and encourage our chefs to take a minimum fuss approach during preparation and cooking to keep the natural goodness in our food.
Our chefs not only share ideas amongst themselves but also like to hold Holroyd Howe food education classes for children. These can be anything from fresh pasta, sushi or bread baking to creating recipe cards which help to encourage children to try new types of food, learn about seasonality and the variety of ingredients available.
We spend a great deal of time perfecting our creative skills. Over the years, we’ve learnt that, often, the most creative and appealing foods are the ones children will choose to eat. So we always try our utmost to offer delicious, scrumptious food. We will introduce our Love Food Hate Waste campaign to encourage pupils to reduce waste.
Holroyd Howe use regional and local suppliers and are passionate about supporting British farmers and producers. We already have many established links with Cheshire suppliers and North West producers and we are delighted for the opportunity to work further with the School to put local trade in Chester firmly on our menus.
