Book Week round-up

With huge thanks to Librarian Mrs Harding and her team, we have enjoyed a busy book-filled week in all areas of the school.

Infants and Juniors spent Thursday’s World Book Day off timetable to enjoy a variety of book-related activities and as always, we were amazed by the wonderful costumes on display.

Other highlights included a whole school read in the Junior Hall, an exciting book swap in Willow Lodge and a special story time for our Reception children in the Senior School library.

In Senior School, pupils have taken part in quizzes and activities in tutor periods all week.

The week was bookended by our Book Quizzes which drew enthusiastic crowds to see RMRE take the victory in the Removes Book Quiz on Monday and Dutton (pictured) emerge victorious in the House Book Quiz on Friday.

Pupils have also been challenged to match the teacher to their bookshelf in Mrs Harding’s “Shelfie” competition, and Juniors and Seniors turned detective as they attempted, Cluedo-style, to solve the library murders. The results – and winners – of both competitions will be announced next week.

Voting has been taking place all week for the 2022 KSC Book Awards. Votes will be counted and verified over the weekend – watch this space for the big announcement of the winners next week.
